Leadership Transition for Patrick Norton

January 29, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We write to share that Patrick Norton will be stepping down from his roles as Vice President for Public Affairs, Chief of Staff to the EVP/Dean, and Secretary to the Penn Medicine Board next month.

Patrick has had two distinguished tenures over nearly 14 years with Penn Medicine, most recently beginning in 2017. In his leadership roles, he has fostered close connections between the two crucial institutional functions of Communications and Government & Community Relations to drive marquee initiatives, which have placed Penn Medicine in the national spotlight. Patrick has made an especially impactful imprint on Penn Medicine’s commitment to our local communities, stewarding the creation of the Penn Medicine CAREs Grant Program, which recently passed $1 million in support of staff volunteerism in the neighborhoods we serve.

Patrick asked that we share with you his “profound gratitude and deepest appreciation for having had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people who together make Penn Medicine the great place that it is.”

Please join us in thanking Patrick for his service and wishing him well in the next chapter of his career.

Stay tuned for more information on some important staffing changes to support the momentum and advancement of Penn Medicine.

Thank you,
