History

Founded in 2011, the Center for Surgery and Health Economics was established to demonstrate a clear commitment of the Department of Surgery to issues in the delivery of modern surgical care. The Center is affiliated with the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the Wharton School. Its mission is to work with collaborators across multiple departments and disciplines to improve the quality of surgical care delivered across the country through the use of novel techniques in education, clinical investigation, and health services research.​​​​​​
