Colonel Mary Ann Garbowski (retired), COO of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Penn Medicine Medical Group, was inspired to join the U.S. Air Force by her parents, who both served in the military. “I learned that leading and being in charge were not the same, and I strive to empower my team to be responsible and accountable while also holding myself to the highest standard,” Garbowski said. “I am grateful for the privilege of serving my country,” she added. “I feel that same sense of pride working in Women’s Health at Penn Medicine.”
