Welcome to the Blair Lab

We are one the member labs within the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET) in the Systems Pharmacology & Translational Therapeutics Department.

Dr. Blair's laboratory is located on the eighth floor of the Biomedical Research Building II/III on Curie Boulevard in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The laboratory is equipped with four triple quadrupole mass spectrometers (Thermo TSQ Vantage, Thermo TSQ Ultra, Agilent 6460, Agilent 6490) and two high-resolution ion trap mass spectrometers (Thermo Q-Exactive HF Hybrid Quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometers). There is also a full-equipped laboratory for wet-lab experiments, organic synthesis, and cell culture. The availability of this instrumentation allows both quantitative and structural determinations to be performed in our many collaborative projects.

Research in our laboratory is focused on the use of high-resolution mass spectrometry and molecular biology as tools for conducting sophisticated proteomics, DNA-adductomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics research. We have a particular emphasis on discovering biomarkers for the early detection of cancer and biomarkers of response in rare diseases.

The availability of this instrumentation allows both quantitative and structural determinations to be performed in our many projects as well as offer support to Investigators in the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET) and the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT).
