Summer Fellow Standards
A typical CGH Summer Visiting Fellow will meet the below criteria.
In addition to the below standards it should be noted that the Center for Global Health does not accept unsolicited applications, any such application will NOT be reviewed. The Center for Global Health will solicit applications from our partner institutions.
- Possession of an advanced degree such as an MD, Ph.D., or equivalent
- Applicants should have attained their most advanced degree no more than 10 years prior to
- Medical applicants need to have an M.D. or MBChB with an advanced degree (e.g., MMed or Masters degree) in a related field.
- Nursing applicants need to have a Masters degree in nursing, public health or a related field (PhD preferred), or substantial work experience.
- Veterinary applicants need to have a MMedVet, PhD and Masters degree in related field.
- Other public health professionals (those without a clinical degree) must have a Doctoral degree in public health or a related field.
- Applicants should have attained their most advanced degree no more than 10 years prior to
- Hold an academic affiliation at a CGH-affiliated institution within their home country.
- Proficient in reading and writing of the English language
- Receive a letter of support from your home institutions representative
- All successful applicants must provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccine. Your most recent shot (2nd vaccine shot or booster) must have been received within 12 months of arrival to Penn
