Hear from the Fellows
Please rate the progress that you made at Penn in establishing future collaborations.
I had the opportunity to learn through networking and how I could leverage on this relationship I have built to make giant and exceptional strides in my life as a lecturer and a researcher. I look forward to writing a grant in collaboration with the amazing and seasoned researchers I have met through this program.
I definitely met my objectives and exceeded them. I came to the program with the idea of learning about Implementation Science, however, I was not expecting to be inspired by the tutors and the people working at the local sites that we visited. All in all, listening to the knowledge and stories from these people made me ponder again why I was originally interested in research and they helped me reaffirm my passion for it, as I could see the same passion in them.
What were the best experiences while you were here at Penn?
The hospitality of the CGH staff The networking sessions The tours The dinners Meeting other fellows from different countries Experiences with using the bus, trolley, and train transport systems.
I would like to mention that the program as a whole made me ponder over the fact that addressing health inequalities within a country is a highly complex task to tackle even if the scientific knowledge and technology is the best available worldwide (as in the US). These are only some of the requisites. It is paramount that stakeholders share (or are inspired) the same passion that the researcher has and can see the importance of eradicating the issue at hand.
Thanks to this program I have met incredible researchers which now (after some additional meetings) I have the opportunity to learn continuously from them and potentially continue working with them and collaborating together on HIV projects.
