Desktop Services

PSOM Faculty and Staff are welcome to use the CrashPlan service managed and operated by ISC.  All backups are stored in Code42’s cloud environment. Each computer is backed up and comes with unlimited storage. CrashPlan supports Windows 7 or higher and MacOS 10.13 or higher.

Each user is charged the FY21 rate of $4.50/account per month for up to 4 computers. Unlimited data backup and no additional charge for each GB.

Desktop Engineering is in charge of creating, testing, and deployment of software and images across the PMACS domain environment.

Contact CSG Managers

PMACS offers a service that facilitates the management of software licenses. This service, based on the Sassafras K2 platform, enables groups to monitor the usage of desktop software products such as SAS, MatLab and more. K2 can also enforce limits on the use of software, such as by user or by concurrent sessions.

PMACS VDI is a production virtual desktop solution provided to PSOM Faculty and Staff across multiple disciplines and locations. PMACS VDI is used in 9 states and 3 countries. Windows 10 is currently the only available OS option.

PMACS's CSG team supports end user operating systems such as Windows 10 and Mac OS X. CSG supports timely deployment of patches, as well as vetting and recommending when to move to major version upgrades of new releases of each operating system.
