A Conversation with Dr. Robert Vonderheide of Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center

Robert H. Vonderheide, MD, DPhil, director of the Abramson Cancer Center, sat down with Ajay Raju on 6ABC’s “Overheard” for a wide-ranging discussion on innovations in cancer care and research. Explaining the current state of cancer research goals, Vonderheide said, “Now we’re trying to understand, where did cancer come from? Why did it start? What were the risk factors that led to that person developing cancer? Imagine the impact if we understood that biology...or had health care policies that addressed that aspect. We could eliminate cancer before it’s cancer.”
