Antibiotic Resistance Threatens to Kill 208 Million People in 25 Years

Over the years, bacteria have learned to resist the effects of antibiotics to the point where antibiotic resistance is one of the top 10 threats to humanity, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). César de la Fuente, PhD, a Presidential Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, Microbiology, Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering, and Bioengineering, whose lab seeks new molecules with antibiotic capacity, agreed, adding that “artificial intelligence can play a key role in solving this global health problem.”
