CAR T-Cell Therapy’s Risks and Benefits are Becoming Clearer

A "flurry" of research this year has shown that CAR T-cell therapy’s benefits “for the vast majority of patients far outweigh the risks,” David Porter, MD, of Hematology, said in STAT News. Some patients may eventually develop another cancer, but researchers still have not found definitive evidence that CAR T-cell therapy has directly caused new cancers.
