Carl June Awarded the Abarca Prize for CAR T Cell Therapy Research

CAR T cell therapy pioneer Carl June, MD, the Richard W. Vague Professor in Immunotherapy, was presented with the IV Edition of the Abarca Prize by the HM Hospitals Research Foundation, during a gala in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday. June was honored for developing the revolutionary cancer immunotherapy, which is now being studied as a treatment for autoimmune conditions and other diseases. As part of the award festivities, June received personal congratulations from H.M. King of Spain Felipe IV, in a private audience at Palacio de la Zarzuela. Stories are in Spanish.
