Prepare Survivors for the Risk of Secondary Cancers

An overview of the risk factors associated with developing secondary cancers mentions a Penn Medicine study that found a low rate of secondary cancers among patients who received CAR T cell therapy. Frederic Bushman, PhD, the William Maul Measey Professor and chair of Microbiology, said “the evidence continues to reassure us that the benefits of CAR T cell therapy far outweigh the risks.”
