Overview
WELCOME TO THE MESSAGE EFFECTS LAB
At the Message Effects Lab, we help teams identify the specific type of message content that will positively influence decisions and behavior. If you might want to collaborate, we welcome all questions.
The content of a message can influence us by shaping our beliefs and emotions. But because health messages often fail to have the intended effect, we use science to ensure your messages will have a positive effect. Through empirical testing, we help you learn which messages (and messengers) will have the right effect.
When the message matters, you can use science to craft it.
The Message Effects Lab helps you:
- Identify and target mechanisms of behavior change
- Tailor intervention approaches to your unique research needs
- Leverage behavioral prediction models from social and cognitive psychology
- Apply validated measures and other methodological advances
Determine what works best and why.
With support from the Perelman School of Medicine and the Annenberg School for Communication, we collaborate with academic research teams, domestic and international governments, non-profit organizations, and industry. Click here for examples of recent success and ongoing projects.
