VCRC Genetic Repository One-Time DNA Study

CURRENTLY ENROLLING: YES

The purpose of this study is to identify genes that increase the risk of developing vasculitis, a group of severe diseases that feature inflammation of blood vessels.

NO. There are no medications involved with this study.

The One-Time DNA study is looking to identify genes that increase the risk of developing vasculitis. Results of these studies will provide researchers in vasculitis with insight into the causes of these diseases and generate new ideas for diagnostic tests and therapies, and will be of great interest to the larger communities of researchers investigating vasculitis and other autoimmune, inflammatory, and vascular diseases.

Patients must first have a diagnosis of the following types of vasculitis:

  • Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA // Churg-Strauss)
  • Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA)
  • Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA)
  • Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN)
  • Takayasu's arteritis
  • Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA // Wegener's)

It is just a one time blood draw, usually done at the time of enrollment.

If you choose to participate, please make sure you are willing to discuss your medical history and disease to the research staff and give blood (approximately1 tablespoon) for DNA collection.

Thank you for your interest! If you wish to learn more and sign up for the study, please contact:
