Admissions

Ideally, applicants should apply to the PHCP at the time they apply to BGS. Their personal statement should reflect their interest in public health in addition to the doctoral discipline. A special admissions committee will consider applicants to PHCP and will participate in the interview process. Only students accepted to a BGS doctoral program will be considered for admission to the PHCP, and admission to PHCP is competitive.  Note: Whereas admission to the doctoral programs is made on a rolling basis starting in late January, admissions decisions for the PHCP program will not be made until March. 

Applications will also be considered through the end of the first year of graduate school. Interested students should submit a paragraph describing their interest in this training program to the PHCP coordinator as soon as possible to ensure consideration, as well as the ability to start program requirements, such as the PHCP seminar and public health classes.
