Customers of the LPC will receive a feature-rich environment upon which they can perform analytical and computational work. The environment aligns the computational resources a customer has provided with the amount of processing the customer has access to, while providing a consistent framework for managing a scalable environment. Individual customers who use the LPC do not face usage based billing rates, which ensures predictable costs.

The LPC provides both CPU and GPU computing options. CPU computing consists of dedicated nodes for each faculty member.

Penn Medicine Academic Computing Services offers a variety of configurations of virtualized servers to support the Perelman School of Medicine community.

Full Description

A menu of virtual server configurations and pricing are listed below.

Virtual servers can be configured to support custom, dedicated workloads and for situations where queue-based computing is not appropriate. Virtual servers can host dedicated scientific software or provide the opportunity to work in interactive sessions. Virtual servers can also be customized to the security requirements for working with specific data sets.

Virtual servers can be used to host a variety of applications. Common examples of applications hosted on PMACS virtual servers include Progeny, Velos eResearch, and REDCap. Custom web environments can also be hosted on virtual servers, specific to the specifications required.
