PMACS strongly encourages all faculty and staff to contact IT when negotiating data use agreements and contracts that have IT implications. Examples of when IT should be contacted include negotiating with an external organization about acquiring data for analysis, providing a service to another organization, or purchasing IT services, software or equipment with IT connectivity. 

PMACS encourages PSOM faculty and staff to arrange a consult with regards to developing IT costs for grants. PMACS can assist in developing strategies for meeting grant objectives and providing quotes and supporting documentation that can be incorporated in to grant submissions.

PMACS is happy to consult with PSOM faculty and staff to develop strategies for deploying IT solutions for departments, centers and institutes. PMACS staff have experience architecting solutions for supporting clinical research, storing and analyzing sensitive data, providing laboratory management systems, and developing, acquiring and supporting administrative systems.

PMACS assists PSOM faculty and staff by facilitating vendor assessments by Penn Medicine Information Security. Vendor assessments should be performed when purchasing IT services, software or network-connected equipment. A vendor assessment can help inform of any security concerns and can assist with the vendor selection and contract negotiation processes.
