Databases

PMACS provides a server-based FileMaker Pro service. Users can develop FileMaker Pro applications and deploy them to PMACS’s FileMaker Pro server. Users can then access this centrally supported FileMaker Pro server.

Capacity Assumptions/Restrictions

Users who build and maintain FileMaker Pro applications must remain current within 3 versions of the FileMaker Pro desktop client. Users who do not remain current will need to purchase a new license from Penn’s Office of Software Licensing or their application will be removed from the server.

PMACS provides alternative database platforms to support applications and scientific analysis. PMACS supports multiple major platforms on Linux, including the following:

  • Neo4j
  • MongoDB
