Medical Scientist Training Program

Doctoring Course Policy

In order to ensure continuity, MD-PhD students are required to stay in their Doctoring group until the completion of Doctoring II. This means that you will need to attend approximately six sessions after you have exited the clerkships in June of the second year. Two of these will be while studying for the boards or while conducting the first month of a lab rotation, and four will take place after the start of the graduate school semester. If you have a time conflict because of a graduate school course, contact your preceptor and/or Marie Kobithen to make arrangements to make up the sessions, or explore the possibility of changing the meeting time. (If it's a small enough graduate school course, it may also be possible to move the meeting time for it.)
