  • Can be seen in patients presenting with shortness of breath secondary to obstructive lung disease or pulmonary embolus. Normal lung sliding or "ants marching on a line."

 B Lines

  • Can be seen in volume overload secondary to heart failure or in pneumonia

Evaluation for Pleural Effusion

  • Lung (blue)/Diaphragm (red) Interface w/ "Curtain Sign", liver/kidney moving out of window with respiration. No effusion seen here

  • Lung/Diaphragm Interface w/ Pleural Effusion and "Starfish" appearing lung that is consolidated
