Information for Cancer Researchers
The Abramson Cancer Center supports a dynamic research effort focused on cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The following links may be of interest to Abramson Cancer Center investigators:
- Clinical Trials Scientific Review and Monitoring Committee: This website contains information and resources for Penn investigators initiating clinical research projects related to cancer. All cancer clinical trials must be approved by the Clinical Trials Scientific Review and Monitoring Committee before activation.
- Abramson Cancer Center's Clinical Research Unit: The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) assists Abramson Cancer Center investigators in the development and conduct of clinical research. Directed by Amy Clark, MD, the CRU collects, monitors, and analyzes data for intramural and cooperative group trials. The specific objective of the CRU is to provide the necessary infrastructure to support adult therapeutic clinical trial research in the ACC. The CRU provides a full spectrum of services including protocol development, budget and financial analysis, regulatory affairs expertise, research nursing, and data management. As a centralized administrative unit, the CRU provides highly skilled research personnel to support the ACC clinical researchers who would not otherwise have the resources necessary to properly conduct clinical trials.
