Description of Clinical Expertise

I treat general gastrointestinal diseases and conditions, as well as specialize in medical weight loss therapy.

Description of Research Expertise

I am interested in the role of gut hormones in the development of obesity and obesity related diseases such as non-alcohol fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Gut hormones such as GLP1, GIP and PYY are involved in appetite and metabolism and are current or potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of obesity (as are the receptors for these hormones). I am interested in genomic and translational, human-subject, research into gut hormones and obesity. My expertise and interests include cell based research, murine genetics and murine research, deep phenotyping of human subjects, genomics and bioinformatic approaches to large datasets.
