The Sweet Taste of Childhood

luncheon
Julie Mennella, Director of Education Outreach at Monell Chemical Senses Center

Ever wonder why your child loves to eat macaroni and cheese while her best friend likes nothing better than a steaming bowl of cauliflower curry? The answer may lie in part with what they were fed as young infants. The research of Dr. Julie Mennella, Director of Education Outreach at Monell Chemical Senses Center, focuses on the development of food and flavor preferences in humans and the effects of alcohol consumption on women's health and infant development. Mennella is the author of numerous research papers and directs a program that encourages high school and undergraduate students to pursue careers in science and medicine.

The luncheon is at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 19, 2010, in the Lenape Room of the University Club.
