Studies and Collaborations

The CCRU's current ongoing studies include:

Ablate-by-LAW

This study evaluates if using the ADAS 3D LA software with CTA LAWT analysis and CTA LA Distance to the Esophagus Analysis is feasible and safe in the clinical ablation setting. The goal is to enroll 40 patients age 18 years or older.

ACE-VT

ACE-VT is a clinical pilot study designed to evaluate the ability of the CardioSolv Software System to generate an output for the physician to review in a timely fashion, consistent with the standard-of-care VT ablation workflow. This study will assess the acute effectiveness of using the CardioSolv Software System output as additional supporting information for physician identification of potential ablation targets.

Amyloid

Early Diagnosis of Transthyretin Cardiac Amyloidosis is an observational imaging study being conducted at the University of Pennsylvania. The goal is to evaluate if imaging techniques can detect a disease of the heart called cardiac transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis early in its course.

CARE-COVID

The objective of the CARE-COVID research study is to determine the prevalence and burden of cardiac arrhythmias among COVID-19 survivors, who were hospitalized in the ICU or had evidence of cardiac injury at the time of admission. The other objective is to assess the longer-term arrhythmia or arrhythmia burden in a traditionally under-represented population.

iSCAD Registry

The iSCAD Registry develops and maintains an independent, quality data repository to advance the pace and breadth of spontaneous coronary artery dissection research around the world, toward the common goals of improving patient diagnosis and outcomes and accelerating scientific discovery.

MyoKardia HCM Database

The HCM database focuses on collecting data about hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), the most common genetic cardiovascular disease of Mendelian inheritance.

PVC Imaging

This study is a prospective longitudinal human cohort study in patients who are potentially undergoing PVC suppression (ablation or medications). A CMR will be performed pre-PVC suppression and 6-12 months post successful PVC suppression. 120 patients will participate in this study.

RAAFT-3

RAAFT-3 is a multi-center randomized clinical trial which seeks to determine the superior treatment as first-line therapy for patients with symptomatic and persistent atrial fibrillation.

Roybal

This study is a home-based walking program that tests ways to help patients complete the cardiac rehabilitation program prescribed by their doctor.

STEP-UP Mom

The STEP UP Mom research study aims to analyze step count data about women after delivering a baby. It is a two-arm randomized trial that encourages moms to be more active and is designed by collaborative gamification purposes, with step count data that is captured on Fitbits.

TRACER-ICD

This study evaluates the experiences of patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. We will be collecting information about patient's medical conditions, functional status, and quality of life at the time of ICD implantation. We will collect information every 3 months from patients for up to 18 months. Goal of 500 patients (100 each site) age greater than or equal to 65 years old.

VCR

VCR is an observational study assessing the efficacy and feasibility of virtual cardiac rehabilitation with remotely monitored exercise.

VIRT-CR

VIRT-CR is a clinical trial investigating the effects of a virtually implemented cardiac rehab program with real-time, video-based exercise supervision and vitals monitoring. The goal of VIRT-CR is to test the effectiveness of a virtually implemented cardiac rehab program with real-time video based exercise supervision and vitals monitoring as compared to traditional center based rehab in patients with a clinical indication with cardiac rehab.
