Dr. Grover is interested in addressing the growing global cancer burden by focusing on public health endeavors and cost-effective clinical initiatives to improve access to care and outcomes of care in developing countries. Her research interests include racial and ethnic disparities in cancer care and outcomes, HIV-related malignancies, implementation and up-scaling of prevention and treatment programs in low resource settings. Since 2011 she has been working with the Botswana-UPENN partnership in developing an oncology program in Botswana. Her research will be focused on epidemiology of HPV related cancers (cervical, head and neck and anal) and treatment outcomes in patients with HIV and malignancies in Botswana.

Dr. Shulman is immediate past Chair of the Commission on Cancer and serves on the National Cancer Policy Forum of the National Academy. He is the former Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality of Care Committee and the Commission on Cancer’s Quality Integration Committee. In this regard, Dr. Shulman serves as Senior Oncology Advisor to the non-profit organization Partners In Health (PIH). The PIH mission includes the establishment of national cancer treatment programs with the Ministries of Health in Rwanda, Lesotho, and Haiti, programs for which he plays a seminal leadership role. He sits on the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Council for Rwanda’s University for Global Health Equity. In addition, he helps to lead the development of the national oncology program in Botswana through the Botswana-UPenn Partnership.

 Kierstyn Claycomb Bio

Kierstyn Claycomb serves as a Program Manager at the Center for Global Health (CGH) in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Kierstyn provides strategic, operational, and logistic support across several CGH programs including Penn’s Ukraine and Gaza initiatives and the Vingroup Penn Alliance.

Kierstyn has more than 20 years’ experience in oncology in several pharmaceutical and biotech roles including drug development, translational medicine, diagnostic development, and strategic transactions.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Rochester Institute of Technology, a master’s in business administration and a master’s in finance from Northeastern University with a specialization in International Business and Corporate Finance and a Master of Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
