Tissue Microarray Construction
The Pathology Clinical Service Center (PCSC) utilizes the Galileo CK4600 Tissue Microarrayer to construct both high- and low-density tissue arrays using core sizes of 0.6, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 mm. These arrays can be customized to meet your specific needs and optimized for spatial-omics analysis.
For studies involving archival patient tissue, we recommend collaborating with a pathologist (or pathology trainee) to ensure efficient triaging of tissue blocks and to expedite array construction. If needed, the PCSC can connect you with one of the expert subspecialist pathologists at Penn Pathology for further support.
The estimated turnaround time for TMA projects (once tissue blocks are obtained and IRB approval is in place) is 4-6 weeks. Before submitting your TMA request, if you are a new client, please make sure you have reviewed the instructions for initiating New User Set-Up with the PCSC.
