The Department of Medicine’s Clinical Trials Unit (DOM CTU) is staffed by research personnel including project managers, research coordinators, regulatory specialists, recruitment specialists, and research assistants.  The DOM CTU staff provide operational and other support for a wide spectrum of clinical trials including phases I-IV, investigator/industry initiated, different disease states and varying complexities.  Involvement ranges from consulting to serving as the primary staff handling all clinical trial activation & execution tasks.

DOM CTU staff are trained in the “Penn way” and have access to Penn systems, with a DOM CTU supervisor assigned to manage performance.

Our mission is to support Penn faculty for clinical trial operations and execution, increase the quality and quantity of clinical research at Penn, provide a training ground and mentorship for clinical research staff, and share a toolbox of resources.
