Conditions Treated with Hyperbaric Medicine
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat tissue damage caused by certain non-healing conditions including:
- Delayed radiation injuries (which can develop after cancer treatment)
- Diabetic foot and leg wounds
- Chronic bone infections (osteomyelitis)
- Compromised skin flaps and grafts
- Sudden sensorineural hearing loss
- Brain abscesses
- Crush injuries
- Complicated hypospadias repairs
Emergency Treatments
Our team is on call 24/7 for certain emergency conditions, which may include:
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Decompression sickness ("the bends")
- Gas gangrene
- Air gas emboli (bubbles in the bloodstream)
- Necrotizing infections (flesh-eating bacterial infections)
- Central retinal artery occlusion (a stroke affecting the eye)
- Embolization (blood clots) of certain blood vessels
