End of Grammarly Pilot for PSOM
ISC has announced the end of the Penn-wide Grammarly pilot, with access through the pilot ending on January 14, 2026.
Please note: To protect institutional data and ensure compliance with Penn’s security and privacy requirements, PSOM users must only use Grammarly subscriptions that are acquired through the University when accessing Grammarly on PSOM-managed devices.
Grammarly subscriptions purchased or obtained independently—such as free, personal, or consumer-grade premium accounts—may not be used on PSOM-managed systems. The University-issued licenses are covered under Penn’s negotiated contract and Business Associate Agreement (BAA), which ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place for institutional and sensitive information.
What This Means for You
- Only University-provisioned Grammarly accounts may be used on PSOM-managed devices.
- Devices enrolled in PSOM’s management will enforce “Managed Mode,” which prevents the use of non-Penn Grammarly accounts, including free accounts.
- Grammarly’s account transition is scheduled for January 14, 2026.
- University-licensed Grammarly accounts are available at $87 per user per year. Note it is a 1 year commitment at minimum.
How to Request Access
To order a Penn Grammarly license, please contact the PMACS helpdesk. After ISC provisions the account, you will receive an email invitation to activate your University-managed Grammarly subscription.
