John Greenwood is an Assistant Professor in the Departments Emergency Medicine & Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. He studied Medicine at Jefferson Medical College and completed residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland where he also served as Chief Resident and Faculty Development fellow during that time. John then stayed at the University of Maryland to complete his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, with additional training in ECMO support.
His research interests are focused on circulatory shock, resuscitation, tissue perfusion, and microcirculatory function, with a goal to improve therapeutic interventions and patient outcomes from acute critical illnesses.
