Meghan Lane-Fall, MD, MSHP, FCCM is Vice Chair of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity and David E. Longnecker Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine. Appointed to the VC role in August 2020, Dr. Lane-Fall has been supporting departmental, institutional, and extramural DEI efforts since 2011. As a vice chair, she works with the chair and other vice chairs to advance the department’s goals, including ensuring equity in clinical care and education, diversifying the clinical and non-clinical workforce, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace. Goals for the AY21 year include developing a 3-5 year inclusion, diversity, and equity-focused strategic plan and undertaking an equity-focused review of the residency curriculum. Accomplishments to date include charging a new departmental committee – the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Antiracism (IDEA) committee, expanding the Diversity Search Advisor program to include administrative staff recruitment, and sponsoring department members’ attendance at the Penn FOCUS annual conference for women.
