Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Vice Chair for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity

 

As Vice Chair for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery I work alongside our Chair and other faculty/staff to design and implement programs as part of the departments commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

The DEI goals of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for AY21 include:

  1. Cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment that promotes fairness and inspires all members of the department to value, support, and celebrate one another.
  2. Continue to support educational programs for all department members that focus on unconscious bias, stereotypes, and microaggressions.
  3. Create pipeline diversity initiatives for future recruitment of faculty, staff, and trainees to increase diversity within oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  4. Augmenting existing and creating new clinical initiatives that increase access to oral and maxillofacial services to marginalized and minoritized patients.
