Community Engagement

As a pediatrician who specializes in child abuse and neglect, I have had important responsibilities in helping to protect some of society’s most vulnerable children, locally and through state and national efforts. As an Assistant Dean for Community Engagement at PSOM, I have had the great pleasure of working with our enthusiastic and talented students, supporting their community volunteer work and helping to support their career aspirations. - Dr. Cindy Christian - Assistant Dean for Community Engagement

Philadelphia is a vibrant and diverse city for our students to learn and grow. It is important to us that PSOM students have the opportunity to contribute to the city's health and wellness while they are enrolled here. Over 3/4 of our students perform meaningful work within a student-led clinic, and/or alongside other Penn Medicine professionals in schools, after-school programs and community centers.
