luncheon

Dr. Dupont Guerry's highly acclaimed book "Melanoma: Prevention, Detection, and Treatment," Yale University Press, 2005, with coauthor Catherine M. Poole, begins with the statement "Cancer is more feared than death in our society". His scholarship at Penn focused on melanoma, for which he became a recognized researcher and clinician. He addressed issues related to the immunobiology of tumor progression, the precursor states of the tumor, the application of therapy to primary and metastatic disease, the identification and the development of risk factors with predictive models for identifying those at high risk for developing melanoma.

The luncheon is at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in the Lenape Room of the University Club.
