An Update on Breast Cancer Screening

Professor of Radiology and Chief of the Breast Imaging section in the Department of Radiology at Penn. Her research on multi-modality breast screening and intervention procedures is published in Radiology, The New England Journal of Medicine and other prestigious journals.

The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram annually.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force announced its recommendations in November that women with a normal risk of breast cancer should begin having mammograms biennially starting at age 50.
