Adult Families

For Adults and Their Parents in Conflict

Conflicts between adult children and their parents related to old wounds or current issues may occur at any age. Issues related to life transitions, such as leaving home, marriage, and caretaking older or ill parents, may rekindle childhood problems or present new ones. Often the best way to avoid escalating these issues is consultation with a family systems therapist. This gives everyone has a chance to learn from and support each other. Sibling issues are also often amenable to this type of intervention.

Alternatively, coaching the young adult or parent in the best ways to reach out to their family member (Bowen therapy) is often helpful.

We offer:

  • Family of origin consultation or therapy
  • Individual coaching
