Fellowship Opportunities

The CNB plays a key role in supporting the educational mission of the Department, School, and University by encouraging the recruitment of outstanding MD, PhD, and MD/PhD laboratory scientists working at the interface of neurobiology and mental illness research. In addition, the center provides a cohesive home for graduate and post-graduate studies in behavioral neurobiology at the medical school, and its faculty teach in the Biological Basis of Behavior program for University undergraduates. CNB faculty are PIs and/or mentors on several NIH training grants, and there is evidence that CNB trainees go on to highly successful biomedical research careers.

The CNB faculty participate in educational programs that facilitate awareness of the physiological correlates of complex behavior. A model of integrated interdisciplinary training exists through several NIH-supported training programs: Training Program in Neuropsychopharmacology (I. Lucki), Substance Abuse (C. O'Brien), Aging (S. Arnold), and Schizophrenia (R. Gur). These programs provide postdoctoral fellows with advanced training in clinical and/or basic research.
