Current Integration of Cultural Competency for CME

The CME Office is directed by Gail Morrison, MD, Vice Dean for Education and Principal Investigator for the Cultural Competency Medical Education Training Program. The CME Office has the ability to approve educational activities that carry AMA Category 1 credit hours for practicing physicians.

The mission of CME Office is to assist physicians in the maintenance of their commitment to life-long learning and improved patient care through the provision of high quality CME activities and initiatives. Educational initiatives focus on patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, professionalism, system-based practice, and interpersonal and communication skills. Educational formats range from didactic lectures, symposia, case-based conferences, and grand rounds to skills development and review courses, mini-fellowships and preceptorships, national educational initiatives, journal articles and self-directed learning materials.
