Welcome to ACT Phase II: Advancing Inclusive Excellence

As we embark on the next stage of the Action for Cultural Transformation (ACT) Strategic Plan, our unwavering commitment remains the elimination of structural injustice across Penn Medicine and the broader communities we impact. ACT Phase II is designed to encourage the use of the ACT Strategic Framework for strategic planning throughout our organization, with a singular focus on promoting inclusive excellence. This phase is characterized by our dedication to identifying collaborative opportunities, sharing best practices, and optimizing resource allocation to further our mission of creating a more equitable environment for all. This past spring, we collected several initiatives happening across the organization and have organized them into a balanced scorecard to allow for greater transparency and to greater align our IDE initiatives to the business case.

In this phase, we aim to:

  1. Build on Our Progress: ACT Phase II builds upon the momentum generated in Phase I. We will continue to assess the effectiveness of our initiatives and refine our strategies to ensure they align with our core principles of inclusion, diversity, and equity.
  2. Foster Collaborative Synergy: Collaboration lies at the heart of our efforts. We will actively seek partnerships and alliances both within Penn Medicine and with external organizations that share our commitment to dismantling structural injustice.
  3. Share Best Practices: Through ACT Phase II, we will be dedicated to the dissemination of best practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. This includes hosting forums, workshops, and webinars to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
  4. Optimize Resource Allocation: We understand that resources are essential for meaningful change. During this phase, we will explore innovative ways to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring that they support our inclusive excellence initiatives.
  5. Measure Impact: We will continue to measure the impact of our actions with data collection and analysis, which will guide our decisions, enabling us to make evidence-based improvements.
