Healthcare professionals wishing to claim continuing education credits for participation in this activity must complete this post-activity survey by dates indicated below:

  • Physicians, PAs, NPs and nurses must complete on 3/10/2026.

  • Genetic counselors must complete within one week by 3/17/2026.

Continuing education credits will be made available to attendees who attend live event (in-person or virtual). We are unable to offer continuing education credits to those who attend asynchronously by later reviewing recordings.

Continuing education for the symposium is available at no cost to attendees as fees have been generously sponsored by the The King Family Fund for Lynch Syndrome Education, Outreach and Impact.

 

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Designation of Credit

  • Physicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Nurses: This program provides 6.0 NCPD hours.
  • Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 6.0 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.
  • Genetic Counselor CEUs: The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Penn Medicine's King Center for Lynch Syndrome to offer up to 0.600 CEUs or 6.00 Category 1 contact hours for the activity Penn Medicine's 5th Annual Lynch Syndrome Symposium. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor recertification.

 

Activity Description

This is a single day symposium regarding cancer risks associated with Lynch syndrome, state-of-the-art surveillance and risk-reduction strategies and treatment options. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from a multi-disciplinary team of experts at the forefront of ground-breaking research and discovery. 

 

Objectives

  • Define gene-specific Lynch syndrome cancer risks and options for integrating into personalized early-detection and cancer prevention strategies
  • Compare and contrast evidence-based approaches and emerging practices in identifying and caring for individuals with Lynch syndrome, such as cancer surveillance, treatment and risk-reducing medical management, in addition to potential immune-based prevention strategies
  • Define cutting-edge basic science research initiatives driving the understanding of Lynch syndrome cancer biology and potential therapeutic approaches
