Katherine (Kate) L. Nathanson, MD is a Professor of Medicine, in the Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. She also is the Deputy Director for the Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Nathanson received her BA from Haverford College and MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Genetics, along with a post-doctoral fellowship in cancer genetics. Dr. Nathanson has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Nature, JAMA, New England Journal of Medicine and Cancer Cell. Dr. Nathanson has an extensive record of national service, serving on committees for multiple organizations, such as ACMG and AACR, several editorial boards, and scientific review committees including for the National Institutes of Health. She has been elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the American Association of Physicians.
