CNS-Vasculitis Longitudinal Study

CURRENTLY ENROLLING: YES

This study is being done to learn more about central nervous system vasculitis (CNSV) by following a large group of patients for several years. The data from this research will be used by scientists to study the causes of CNSV, why certain people have CNSV, how it affects the body, and treatment strategies.

NO, you do not need to take any experimental drugs for this study.

The study will collect information from participants’ medical charts, study questionnaires, and body fluids.

Participants must have a diagnosis of CNS-Vasculitis and be under the care of a Penn Medicine rheumatologist.

You could be in the study for up to 3 years.

Clinical information and blood and urine specimens will be collected at your usual clinic visits. The types of information collected will include your medical history, medications your take, and the results of physical exams, labs, and imaging tests (for example, x-rays, MRIs, PET scans). Blood and urine samples will be collected specifically for this study and sent to research laboratories that are looking for proteins, genes, and other chemicals that could serve as new biological markers (indicators) of the disease.
