Annual Evaluation Tool—Postdoc Individual Development Plan (IDP)
BPP requires mentors and postdocs to go through a formal annual review process. Annually, IDPs must be completed and uploaded into the BPP Appointment System at the time of reappointment (including terminal 5th year).

Mentorship Compact between Postdoctoral Scholars and their Mentors
BPP strongly encourages all postdocs and their faculty members to complete a mentorship compact within the first three months of the initial appointment to help set expectations and establish an effective and productive mentee-mentor relationship.

This document is based on the Association of American Medical Colleges’ (AAMC) Compact Between Postdoctoral Appointees and Their Mentors and the Penn Biomedical Graduate Studies (BGS) Mentorship Compact (revised 3/13/23). The document can serve as a framework for aligning the mentor-mentee relationship between Faculty Mentors and their postdocs. It can be used to initiate conversations between mentors and mentees at the beginning of their relationship and assist with the alignment of expectations and responsibilities of both parties.
