Angela M. Burdick-McPhee, LPC-S, CAADC
Director of Behavioral Health
Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor – LPC in PA, NJ, and LA, a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor - CAADC in PA), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor - ACS Nationally. Angela has been working in the field since 2008 in various roles, from Counselor to Executive Director. Angela has a passion for working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders and also has specialty expertise in thanatology and animal-assisted therapy. Angela enjoys teaching and clinical supervision and is pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Holy Cross. She will graduate with her PhD in May 2025. In her free time, Angela enjoys exploring the outdoors, gardening, painting, and playing with and training her certified animal-assisted therapy dog, Quinn, and her two new kittens, Church and Igor.

Hello, I’m Eugene V. Moses, M.A Clinical Counseling Psychology, and I’ve worked as an Addiction Counselor in the Addictions/Behavioral Health Department at PPMC for the past 16 years. I’ve worked with some very dedicated and committed clinicians, nurses, and psychiatrists over the years and have learned so much from them. I’m part of a great team of therapists here at PENN Total Recovery, and we strive to provide excellent services to our clients. I look forward to being a part of our continued growth as we strive to meet the needs of our immediate community by helping those suffering from substance use disorders discover their path to recovery and a better way of life.

Juanita Roper, BS, ICADC, CCTSA, CGP, SAP, joined Penn Presbyterian Medical Center as an addiction counselor in 2017. She is a graduate of Drexel University and a West Philadelphia native with over 20 years of experience with diverse populations in various treatment settings. Working for PPMC as an addictions counselor is especially gratifying as it allows her to work in the neighborhood she grew up in and contribute to its progression. She is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Addictions, a Certified Grief Professional, and holds a Certificate of Competency in Problem Gambling. Being a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and an Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy trained clinician allows her to use evidence-based strategies that increase the likelihood of positive treatment outcomes. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and holistic, considering all areas of wellness throughout treatment. Juanita is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment so people can engage with trust in an atmosphere conducive to healing and growth.

Behavioral Health Services Coordinator
Ellen graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, minoring in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and is attending New York University for her Master’s in Healthcare Administration. She is a member of the International Psychology Honor Society, where she served as the chapter president during her undergraduate studies. Ellen has previous experience working in victim & trauma services in Philadelphia, citing her passions in systems/process innovation within the field.Outside the office, Ellen enjoys learning new languages and artistic hobbies, exploring the culinary scene in the city, and caring for her cat, Haku.
