Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania

Wilderness and Disaster Medicine Education (WADME)

Eligibility

WADME is open to fourth year medical students at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania who are in good standing with the Dean's Office.  Registration is opened by the student leader of that class in late summer and names are selected by lottery.  A deadline is set for the nonrefundable enrollment fee, which was $400/student in 2018.  Students who are on the wait list can enter the course to replace those who fail to submit their checks on time or who drop for another reason.

Student enrollment is limited to 16 students/year including student leader(s).

Student leaders for each subsequent annual course are selected from the third year class by the current fourth year leaders after their own course is completed.
