Dr. Brownlow is an NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the AASM-accredited Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at Penn. She completed her graduate training in Neuropsychology at Howard University.

Her research focuses on applying cognitive, behavioral, and neuropsychological principles to the study of sleep-wake regulatory processes in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Specifically, her research aims to (1) better understand the role of insomnia in the functional consequences (i.e. cognitive systems, neural circuitry) of PTSD; (2) integrate novel behavioral interventions for insomnia and PTSD in order to improve health outcomes.
