Overview

overviewFaculty and staff in the Center are responsible for organizing and coordinating the Community Leadership Committee (CLC) of the Abramson Cancer Center. The purpose of the CLS is to provide strategic direction of the outreach and education programs for the entire cancer center. The CLC includes representatives from advocacy groups (e.g., American Cancer Society), health care insurers, federally qualified health centers, faith-based organizations, and concerned citizens who have been affected by cancer through their personal or family experience. The CLC meets monthly to plan and implement community series entitled "Information, Education, and Hope" based on the priorities identified by African American community residents in the West and Southwest Philadelphia area.
