Methods Core

The Methods Core will support the Penn Innovation in Suicide Prevention for Implementation Research (INSPIRE)  Center’s studies. The Core will develop and apply new methods to address three major questions that we need to answer to improve suicide prevention:

  1. What are the best ways to apply suicide prevention interventions that effectively mitigate suicidal behaviors among high-risk individuals over the course of time?

  2. How do we accurately measure the impact of suicide prevention interventions across a large number of clinical sites?

  3. As we move from research to practice, how do we provide accurate information on associated costs that can be used for sustaining the program over time and increasing its chances for more widespread, successful adoption by other health systems?

The Methods Core will disseminate key insights and best practices in suicide prevention from the local INSPIRE Center to the broader scientific and clinical communities beyond the University of Pennsylvania.
