Postdoctoral Fellow
Hayoung.Donnelly@Pennmedicine.upenn.edu

Dr. Donnelly is a data-inspired psychologist specializing in the intersection of suicidal ideation, adolescents, young adults, the ecological model, and computational research methods, including natural language processing and machine learning. Her research aims to provide insights into health and educational policies and practices to advocate for global mental health equity among all adolescents and young adults. At the INSPIRE center, she collaborates with Dr. Danielle Mowery and Dr. Gregory Brown on suicide prevention study projects, such as developing an automated safety planning intervention rating AI using natural language processing and machine learning. Before joining Penn, she completed a research internship at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

As a fellow, she primarily contributes to two INSPIRE studies related to the implementation of suicide prevention interventions, Project STARS (Exploratory Project 1) and the Signature Project. Dr. Kautz also has substantial experience working across a range of clinical settings, including hospital settings and primary care clinics, and aims to bring this perspective into her research.
