Shazia Savul, MD

Attending Psychiatrist, Penn Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program

Shazia A. Savul, MD, is an attending psychiatrist treating patients with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders at the Penn Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program.

Dr. Savul is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general adult, child and adolescent, and addiction psychiatry. She completed her general psychiatry training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Robert Wood Johnson/Cooper Hospital program of Rutgers University, where she served as a chief resident. She completed her fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Dr. Savul’s work includes the clinical assessment and treatment of patients at the Charles O’ Brien Center for Addictions at the University of Pennsylvania, and she has been involved in didactics and teaching of residents and fellows. Her research interests include the neurobiology of ADHD and addictions, and the comorbidity of ADHD and substance use disorders.
